■ 主な研究テーマ・活動
1)口腔扁平上皮癌における低酸素標的治療を組み入れた化学・放射線療法の開発、2)口腔扁平苔癬の病因解明に向けた免疫・組織学的解析、3)口腔扁平上皮癌・唾液腺癌に対する分化・アポトーシス誘導療法、4)口腔真菌症(カンジダ菌の病原性獲得の機序に関する検討)、5)ポリフェノールによる唾液腺機能保護

■ 研究についてのPR
1)口腔扁平上皮癌において、低酸素誘導因子(HIF-1)が化学・放射線療法に対する抵抗性のKeyとなっていることを明らかにするとともに、低酸素を標的とした治療を組み入れた化学・放射線療法を開発している。2)口腔扁平苔癬の病因を明らかにすべく種々の検討をおこなってきたが、現在は、Toll-like receptorの関与の有無を解析している。3)口腔カンジダ症の予防・治療を目指し、カンジダ菌の病原性獲得機序の解析を行っている。4)ポリフェノール(なかでもEGCG)は正常細胞には分化誘導を、癌細胞にはアポトーシスを誘導するが、その異なる作用がいかなる機序によるものかを解析している。
